Wall tie failure is a common problem, especially in older properties, and can cause major structural damage if not fixed correctly and quickly. Wall ties are very important to a building's structural integrity as they 'tie' the inner and outer leaves of a cavity wall together to provide stability to the entire structure. Consequently, if they are not present or if they have corroded or been inadequately installed then there is a possibility that the outer wall could collapse.
The solution is to implement a wall tie replacement system which will re-connect both the inner (load bearing) leaf with the external wall . Our high performance resin bonded remedial wall ties are perfect for the job, especially if your building has inconsistent or poor quality masonry.
These slim, stainless steel, helical fluted ties have a diameter of 4.5mm which allows for maximum flexibility to accommodate normal building movement, whilst the deep helix offers superior keying with resins or grouts for wall tie replacement in brickwork. They are very economical, simple to use and widely accepted to provide a good, stress-free fixing to most substrates.
Sizes:
- 4.5mm x 195mm for a 50mm cavity.
- 4.5mm x 220mm for a 75mm cavity.
- 245mm x 245mm for a 100mm cavity.
Packaging: Sold in packs of 100
Not Suited For: A cavity with wall insulation, due to the use of a chemically reactive resin.
Applicator (Not Required):
- 10mm SDS Drill Bit.
- Ultra-Rez Polyester Resin or Ultra-Rez Pure Epoxy Resin.
- Drill a 10mm pilot hole through the outer leaf and 55mm into the inner leaf.
- Clean both holes of debris.
- Inject ULTRA-REZ Polyester resin into the inner leaf using the extension nozzle.
- Push the wall tie through the outer leaf and into the inner leaf.
- Inject resin over the tie into the outer leaf.
- Make good the surface.
